CPKT is the most important festival on our calendar, held in partnership with the Botswana Hindu Society. From Kodiyetram on 24 April to the Kavady procession on 3 May, devotees gather to offer kavadi, paal kudam, and milk pots to Lord Murugan. Velum, Mayilum, Sevalum Thunai!

The 3rd Annual CPKT, a special puja day, and devotees from across the seas

Across 2025 the community gathered for the third annual Chitirai Paruvam Kavadi Thiruvizha, a special day of pujas in May, and welcomed devotees and music masters from South Africa to Lord Murugan's sanctum.

3rd Annual Chitirai Paruvam Kavadi Thiruvizha

The third annual Chitirai Paruvam Kavadi Thiruvizha gathered devotees for the temple's flagship festival. Kodiyetram opened the days of bhajan and prasadam; the main day brought the Kaavadi procession, abhishekam to Lord Murugan, and Mahaprasadam shared with the wider community. Velum, Mayilum, Sevalum Thunai!

Special Puja Day

On 16 May 2025, the temple hosted a special day of pujas led by visiting priests — abhishekam, hawan, and sacred recitations — joined by trustees, families, and devotees from across the community.

Visit of Deshan "Styler" Naidoo

South African music master Deshan "Styler" Naidoo — multi-award-winning producer, music educator, and the first South African recipient of the Global Maestro Raga Ratna Award — visited the temple in 2025. Moved by his darshan of Botswana Murugan, he composed Botswana Thirumuruga and offered it freely to the temple and to devotees around the world.

Visit of South African Sai devotees

A group of Sai Baba devotees from South Africa visited the temple in 2025, joining the trustees in prayer and prasadam — a quiet gathering of devotees across traditions, in shared reverence to Lord Murugan.
